My view of the role of the Educational Therapist:

• Assessing and evaluating the student---formal and informal / initial and progress 
  
• Showing kids how they are smart 
  
• Parent education and support/information gathering—demystify learning process/interventions
  
• Building relationships with student, family, teachers, school, allied professionals--whole person
  
• Helping kids learn how they learn and how to advocate for themselves
  
• Managing case/participating on the education team
  
• Participating in on-going training and education in the field
  
• Giving back to the community
